Technical Process of Lead Production

Be it pressing, stamping or turning, we are experts in a large number of technical processes for lead working. This allows us to make full use of the many diverse applications of the material and produce technically precise parts. From weights to flywheel masses to shielding parts. We produce rings as well as seals, wires, pipes and profiles.

Our processes are highly advanced, and are monitored according to the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.

Pressed formed parts

Pressing

On our modern horizontal and vertical presses, we extrude profile cross sections up to a diameter of 210 mm. The flexible tool method allows us to produce practically any lead profile requested.

Stamped formed parts

Stamping

We stamp round blanks, rings, shielding parts (e.g. for collimators) in small and large production runs.

Pressed lead part

Embossing

If virtually cavity free material is required, pressed or cast products are embossed (e.g. for shielding against radioactive material).

Mechanically processed formed part

Turning / Milling / Boring

We are experts in a range of mechanical processing options. This means our customers get a one-stop-shop service.

Finished die-cast parts

Die casting

Our modern die-casting machines can produce weights, vibration absorbers and other lead products up to 4 kg in large numbers. The high specific density of lead makes it particularly suitable for achieving a large weight within a small available area.

Formed parts produced with a mould cast

Mould casting

We use this process to produce counterweights (e.g. for medical equipment or lifts). We also cast crane counterweights of up to 75 tonnes, radiation protection transport containers and shielding for measuring apparatus.
